In addition to the three-handed version of the Argonaut, there were also some chronographs with this designation in the program. The reference 8401 001 with two sub-dials, and the reference 8501 001 with three sub-dials, both had the same strikingly edged case. In addition, a 200 m waterproof diver’s version was available. All versions had no date indicator.
The movements that were used were the hand-wound Valjoux 23 and 726. Unlike the better known Chronolympic Chronographs, the Argonaut Chronos were produced for a relatively short time, between 1968 and 1972. There was a model identical to the 8401 001 (with the same reference number) but with the marking “Timer” on the black dial. An almost-identical version of the reference 8501 001, but without the model name on the dial, also seems to have been available.
